Edit PDF Metadata — Frequently Asked Questions
Which metadata fields can I edit?
All nine standard fields — title, author, subject, keywords, creator, producer, creation date, modification date — plus any number of custom info-dict entries you define.
Does editing metadata change my page content?
No. Only the document's metadata dictionary is rewritten. Text, images, form fields, annotations, and page layout are untouched.
How do I delete a custom field?
Click the × button next to the row. On save, the key is removed from the PDF's info dictionary.
What format should dates be in?
Use the date picker. Internally FormatFuse sends a full timestamp (date + time) to pdf-lib, which writes a PDF-standard D:YYYYMMDDHHmmssZ string.
